We acknowledge that our business is located on the traditional and unceded territory of the Abegweit Mi’kmaq First Nation.

Gomex Engineering Ltd. is the leading consulting firm on the island that offers both Passive House Design services and Whole-building Life Cycle Assessments, taking into account the critical synergies between the two to design low carbon, energy efficient buildings combined with a focus on specifying healthier materials. This holistic approach is what is needed to design good buildings. Good buildings are good for your health, the environment and lowering your operational costs.

As the Founder of Gomex Engineering Ltd., Valentine brings over 16 years of engineering, project and construction management experience to our Clients.

As PEI's only Certified Passive House Designer, Tradesperson and Construction Verifier on the Island, Gomex specializes in low carbon, energy efficient, buildings designs for residential, large-scale institutional, civic, and commercial projects that meet the rigorous Passive House Standards.

Currently the only Living Future Accredited Professional in Atlantic Canada, Valentine also specializes in ecologically restorative and regenerative design and can assist project teams on all International Living Future Institute certifications including Living Building Challenge. This building standard is the epitome of sustainability by providing net positive environmental effects for the communities they are built in.

Valentine also provides guest lectures highlighting the importance of addressing embodied carbon in the built environment and how we can build net zero emission buildings today.
